Villa La Gigliola, dating from the 17th century, was recently beautifully restored. This villa should be high on your list if you would like the experience of living on an actual working estate that produces wine and olive oil. You enter the property through a wrought iron gate and drive along a row of cypress trees through which you can see the estate tennis court and then the villa itself. The villa forms the nucleus of a compound of structures including the winery, a farmhouse reconstructed as rental apartments, and a cottage, Casa Gialla (with its own swimming pool); all of which are independent and do not intrude upon the privacy of the villa. From the villa, a garden path leads to the villa’s private, large swimming pool with an outstanding view of olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills in the valley separating Montespertoli from the town of Castelfiorentino.

The villa rooms are to grand scale and decorated in country style, with some antiques. On the ground floor are 3 living rooms, a large, rustic dining/tavern room with a huge fireplace that occupies almost the entire wall, a fully equipped kitchen, and a twin bedroom with a bathroom including shower over tub.

A large terrace off the living and dining rooms in the rear of the villa provides view of the small woods at the border of the estate. The terrace can be used for outdoor dining and lounging. On the second floor are another living room with a billiard table and 6 additional bedrooms (4 queens - three with showers/tubs and one with shower and 2 twin bedrooms with showers).  All bathrooms are en suite.

All the bedrooms are well furnished; two of them have three beds. The bathrooms are modern, nicely designed, and of good size.

The villa is equipped with a telephone, dishwasher, washing machine, and satellite television.

The owner’s private tennis court is available for renter’s use.

Housecleaning services and/or a chef can be arranged for an additional charge.
